Illustrations? I always wanted to write a children's book. I can always write the story, but I can never draw what I want to. I do not want to hire an author. I would really enjoy making illustrations on the computer if it is possible. The illustration effect I want to achieve, is on this website: http://www.bow-wowbooks.com/ I love the clean lines and the looks of the illustrations. Are these pictures really drawn by hand or computerized? Is there a program I can use to achieve this? Or do I have to do it on my own? Thank you! I really appreciate it!

How do you send illustrations to a publisher? I wrote a book and I haven't sent it to a publisher yet, but I want to draw illustrations for it and I don't know where to put them. Do you put them on the pages with the poems or do you put them on seperate pieces of paper and then send the book. I need help I'm so confused!
I am looking for a specific book of illustrations? I can't recall the name, but the illustrations are quite surreal. One page is of a man holding up a chair, ready to hit a lump in his carpet. Another is of a house blasting off like a space shuttle. Another is of a woman getting ready to carve a glowing pumpkin. Apparently, this book is just a collection of illustrations with no real text other than the captions for the pictures because the author never returned to the publishing house to deliver the manuscript and they were just published as a picutre book. I would like to use this book for an assignment for my students, but can't remember the name of it. If anybody knows which book I am referring to please answer this question.
How do you turn illustrations into vectors? I want to start a t-shirt line, and I know that I need to turn my illustrations into vector images on Adobe Illustrator in order to have them printed. I have Illustrator and am not completely illiterate in how to use it - but how can I turn my illustrations into vectors without losing their hand drawn look? Say, I make a picture with watercolor, and I want that texture to transfer onto the t-shirt - how would I turn that into a vector without ruining the look of it?
Where can I get stock illustrations of stretches for a medical pamphlet? What is the best way to store paintings and illustrations? Specifically, I have a crateful of oil paintings and piles of pencil sketches and drawings. I keep the crate open and the paintings are exposed to some sunlight every day. The illustrations are filed away into shelves in shadow but as the years pass I worry about the aging of both the paper and the various leads.
What illustrations can I put with these words? I have a project to do for A.P. English, and it's really stupid. How would you put illustrations into your book? I'm working on this book, and it'll probably take me another year or so before it hits the shelves, but I've been doing illustrations on my own, and I'd like to ask how my publishing company would put those in my book. Like, would they work through the computer and refine them and then digitally somehow put them in? Or, how does it work?
How many Illustrations should I include in my Novel? I love to write and draw, I want to include illustrations in my novel. I don't want to write a graphic novel just yet because I like writing in novel form and want to develop the story that way. (one day I might write graphic novels though). How many illustrations should I include? Where should they be? Can they be in the paragraphs and not only at the back of the book? Will publishing companies accept this if the story is really good?
How much should I charge for 10 black and white illustrations? I've been asked by an author to make ten illustrations for a book he is writing. The subject matter is rather obscure, so it will have limited printing and circulation. I have to provide a quote for my work. I am not a professional illustrator, and this will be the first time my drawings are printed. They will be 10 black and white line drawings. The writer has seen samples of my work and I'm confident he'll be satisfied with what I produce. What should I charge?
Is it illegal to create art from book illustrations if you are not selling it? I want a poster of an illustration from a children's book. I can't seem to find it. Are illustrations good to add to a young adult novel? My book Broken Borders has been written & edited. It's a young adult novel and last night I was wondering if I should add illustrations to it. Where can I find royalty free and matching clipart or illustrations for a book? I am writing a book for children and I would like to add, temporarily, some simple matching clipart. For instance, if I want to add a flower for one paragraph and two paragraphs further down a beach ball and umbrella, you would be able to tell that it is the same style/artist. Basically same consistency of clipart or illustrations with various objects. Once the publisher has the book they can use their own illustrator. I just want to present it to them with a nice clean copy. Thanks!

How would I find a detailed description, Illustrations, or recreations of a 13th century German Town/village? I am working on a story set in 13th century Germany. How would I find information about a typical German town in that era? I need details on the houses, inside and out, as well as the structure of the town. Illustrations, or pictures of recreations/preserved towns would also be very helpfull. I have searched the net but am only able to find sources that I am not sure I can trust, such as scenes from disney cartoons and such. I wil point out that I am not interested in castles or large kingdoms, just small towns (possibly 200 to 700 residents). Also any German historians out there I am interested in email converstaions if you would be willing to answer specific questions I have. Thanks to everyone in advance. Greg

Where can I find Romeo and Juliet paintings and illustrations? Other than photographs from movies, what are some Romeo and Juliet paintings or illustrations? do you know any children picture book with scary illustrations? My friend's 3-year-old became obsessed with “scary” children stories. His current favorite books are “The Three little pigs,” and similar ones. So I'm searching for children books with scary illustrations that have realistic or even unhappy endings for such curious kids. However, most of those books I found (three little pigs, seven goats, peter and the wolf, chicken little...) have happy endings and no scary illustrations. Do you know such a picture book?
Can I put illustrations to my book or is it going to look cheap? I am writing a book about children having some adventure. Thank you everyone.
How to draw James Hewitt style Illustrations (Gorillaz)? Does anyone know how James Hewitt creates his Illustrations, I'm wondering how he does the lovely black outlines, is it by hand with some sort of special graphic pens or is it done in a program such as Illustrator? He uses many different weights throughout the lines, that's why I have a feeling it may be hand drawn...?

Can you recommend some killer children's lit illustrations? I'm doing a book/reading theme for my nursery and would like to put illustrations from children's books up as art. I'd love some input from other people as to what would be some good books to look at. They don't necessarily have to be illustrations or stories about books/reading, but they do have to look cool. I'd also like them to incorporate creativity and imagination. Thanks for any and all suggestions!
I need to find someone to do some illustrations for me - where would i find someone? I have written a small book which I want to get published but would like to get a few illustrations done to give my agent the idea - where would I find someone to do this Thanks for the offers, if anyone could end themselves with a fee. The illustrations are for a humourous book and I would be looking at three illustrations in a cartoon style. Anyone?
How can I make my technical illustrations look as good as Bryan Christie's? I'm a grad student, and I often create technical drawings to illustrate ideas in my publications. Although I'm no artist and have no training, I like to think my illustrations turn out pretty well. For instance, here's something I created with OmniGraffle: http://tinyurl.com/yvm29b But then one day I saw a magazine article that had an illustration by Bryan Christie Design, and I was blown away: http://www.spectrum.ieee.org/images/aug06/images/gamef1.pdf There's no way I could make drawings look that good using OmniGraffle! Now, I don't have Christie's talent, but maybe if I had his software, my technical drawings would look a lot better. Is there any software on the mainstream market that can produce drawings similar to the one in that magazine? Or does Bryan Christie use some sort of high-end tool that only professionals can afford? Even if you don't know what he uses, any comments or suggestions on how to make good technical drawings would be appreciated.
